Augustine Leudar
was born in the Britain and started working with sound
in the late eighties . Originally entranced by bizarre
music such as the Residents and Ligeti, throughout the
nineties Leudar pursued a more experimental and electronic
direction and released several works some of which were
featured on John
Peel's Radio One show. He was also involved in the
British free party DJing or playing live in a variety
of unlikely situations and places. Throughout this period
he became increasingly interested in Electroacoustic
music. He also trained as a sound engineer and writes
his own software and makes hi fidelity field recordings
to achieve a wide range of special effects for games
and film;
The music has
taken an even more experimental direction since spending
half the time living in the forests and dustbowls of
the Peruvian Amazon . He makes electronic music inspired
by the rural enviroments where he lives (most of the
time) and mythology. His aesthetics include working
towards creating "holographic" music . Recently activities
included creating a new scale based on whole number
ratios . He has performed at various galleries and festivals
both at home and abroad including the National Gallery
of the Czech republic the "Rudolfinum".
Although self
taught for most of his life he recently finished studying
as BSC in "Sonic Arts" at Middlesex University .
New directions
include sound sculptures, 5.1 soundtracks and strange
installations the most recent being a surround sound
fairy mound.
